Starting with the good — and a huge shoutout to the amazing staff at Barley! We had our wedding here and worked mostly with Kelly, who was absolutely fabulous. I truly couldn’t have planned this wedding without her. She was organized, kind, and incredibly detail-oriented. An absolute dream to work with — Barley Sheaf is lucky to have her. The grounds are stunning and so picturesque. Everything went smoothly during both the ceremony and reception, thanks to Kelly and the rest of the team. Now, why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5: When we originally booked in 2024, Barley was under different ownership. The previous owners were warm, attentive, and made us feel seen and respected — it was actually a major reason we chose the venue. A few months after we booked, new management took over. Unfortunately, we didn’t feel the same warmth or attentiveness from the new owner, Theresa. I don’t know if I said or did something wrong that offended her during planning, but we often felt like she was standoffish and uninterested in making us feel welcome. As wonderful as our wedding turned out, we left the next morning feeling a bit deflated because of how we were treated by her. A few specific issues: After the rehearsal, we were allowed to check in early — great! We wanted to nap before the dinner, but noticed a stained comforter (blood or rust). We asked for clean bedding at the front desk. After 45 minutes with no response, we followed up. Theresa came to the room and explained that the cleaning crew was busy prepping for a wedding that night. While that’s understandable, we were confused why she couldn’t just bring fresh sheets herself — we were happy to make the bed. Also, the air conditioning was stuck on freezing. When I mentioned it, she was dismissive and told us she didn’t know when maintenance would arrive. Her attitude felt cold — not what you expect from someone running a wedding venue. On the wedding day: We got ready in the barn and had access to the bridal suite for one hour. After getting ready, we had no one to help move our things from the barn to the suite. We were shocked — especially with the time crunch and amount of stuff we had to move. We asked for help and were told, “Usually the bridal party takes care of that.” My bridal party included only my mother, MIL (both over 70), my MOH, and a friend who was 30+ weeks pregnant. My MOH had to run up and down the stairs multiple times and was dripping with sweat. We are all in our 30s and have been a part of multiple weddings and have never experienced something like that at another venue. It felt like staff should’ve recognized the limitations of our group and offered help — instead, we were met with attitude. Lastly, Theresa was barely present the entire day. Past reviews under old ownership raved about how involved and supportive the owners were during weddings. Maybe she was working behind the scenes, but from our perspective, she never checked in or made us feel celebrated. We didn’t feel like she cared — and definitely didn’t feel like the bride and groom that day by how we were treated.

Just perfect! We absolutely loved every minute of planning and having our wedding with the Barley Sheaf. The entire team was thoughtful, creative, accommodating, sweet, and good at their jobs. We worked most with Kelly, and she is a rockstar!!! The venue is beautiful and can be left alone to be gorgeous or I would imagine can accommodate a wide range of themes. The food was amazing!! They even created a new dish not on their menu for us. All of our guests loved the venue and raved about every aspect.

My husband and I are so happy we had our wedding at the Inn at Barley Sheaf. From our first visit to Barley Sheaf, we had a great feeling about it. All of the staff was so incredibly kind and the property is gorgeous. The team was so helpful and communicative while helping us plan our wedding during the year ahead of our big day. Huge shout out to Abbey and Kelly!! They made us feel so confident that our wedding day would go wonderfully. There was rain in the forecast all week before our wedding, and the team ensured they had several back up plans if we could not go with plan A of having our ceremony outside. Thankfully we were able to go with plan A, which was a dream! Our wedding day was absolutely amazing. My husband and I felt so well taken care of. We knew that the staff and our day of coordinator Kelly had everything under control. All of the staff is incredibly nice and hospitable. The overall service was outstanding! Melissa is also amazing to work with for all your inn needs. All of the food was so delicious. We were told by several guests that it was the best wedding dinner they’ve ever had. Thank you for making our wedding dreams come true! I would highly recommend getting married at the Inn at Barley Sheaf! I hope I can attend another wedding there soon! ❤️

We are still sitting here trying to figure out how to profusely thank the team at Barley Sheaf and the words just don't exist. From our first visit through the post-wedding, the entire team went so above and beyond. They made us feel comfortable, excited, at home, and like we weren’t just faceless clients. Barley Sheaf was the first venue we visited and right away we were in awe. The outdoor space was gorgeous and the barn was the perfect blend of contemporary and rustic. Even after seeing 12 other spaces, Barley Sheaf never left our minds. One of the things we loved most was that Barley Sheaf isn’t cookie cutter. They had great plans in place, but were open to our concerns and suggestions and allowed us to really make the space our own. Our planner, Kelly, truly knocked it out of the park and made us feel so supported along the way. She was always responsive and addressed every question/concern no matter how small. We are both professional event planners and are admittedly a little intense, so we thank her for bearing with us and guiding us and hopefully having a bit of fun with us! Our wedding day would not have been the day it was without her care. We keep hearing over and over how insanely beautiful the venue was and just how nice all of the staff was—especially the servers who catered to our mothers. The food was DELICIOUS. We were so thrilled that the team took our special requests, like making a matzoh ball soup shooter for our guests at cocktails. It’s that level of care and attention to detail that took our day to the next level. We're sure we'll be back since we've fallen in love with the Inn.

We had our May 16, 2025 wedding at Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm and it was incredible! They have amazing attention to detail, kind staff, and delicious food. We didn't have to worry about a thing - they even set all of our frames and signage up. Shout out to Kelly for making everything run smoothly! Would recommend to any couple looking to have a wedding with nature + romantic + approachable vibes.

We had our wedding at Barley Sheaf and we would HIGHLY recommend! When we first toured Barley Sheaf (and was our only venue that we toured because our decision was easy), we were overjoyed by the warm welcome we received from the staff. The historic ambiance and beautiful scenery added to the list of reasons we decided to plan our special day here. From the beginning of the planning process up until we checked out the morning after our wedding, it was an overall 10/10 experience. The food is excellent, staff is amazing to work with, and everyone makes you feel like you are right at home. A few special shout outs: To Kelly who answered my (many) questions and helped us bring our dream wedding into a reality! You are a rockstar and we truly appreciate everything. To Melissa who worked with us to accomodate our guests, answer lodging questions, and helped ensure each of our guests had a cozy place to stay for the weekend. And to the entire Barley Sheaf staff for your generous hospitality, amazing food, and overall fantastic service.

My husband and I got married at Barley Sheaf in the fall and could not recommend it more! The staff at Barley Sheaf are incredible from the detailed day of coordinators who put your mind at ease for the months and days leading up to the wedding and helped everything run smoothly the day of, to the waiters and waitresses who not only kept the guests happy but ensured my husband and I ate and always had a drink, every person we worked with there was top notch. Not only are the staff incredible, but the venue was gorgeous. If you are looking for an elegant inn/barn vibe, look no further.

Amazing day despite the rain!! From the moment we drove down the gorgeous tree-lined driveway, we knew Barley Sheaf Farm was the one. The grounds are absolutely stunning, but what really sets it apart is the amazing staff. Even though there was unexpected rain on our wedding day, we still went ahead with an outdoor ceremony, and the staff made everyone completely forget about the rain. Once the ceremony ended, the venue owner was at the end of the aisle, smiling and ready with a towel to wipe us down and get us set for cocktail hour. It’s the little things, like that moment and all the thoughtful interactions we had with different staff members, that made our day so special. Our guests still talk about how beautiful the venue was and how incredible the staff made everything feel. Thanks to Barley Sheaf, we have so many amazing memories to look back on. Highly recommend!
